Meet Our Caring Team

Practicing dental hygiene in Tucson since 1995, I am focused on treating my patients with compassion, respect, and kindness. I received my Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Dental Hygiene from Pima Community College. I make it a priority to attend numerous continuing education courses in all fields of dentistry to stay current on industry happenings. I’m a member of the Arizona Dental Association and continue to love caring for my long-term patients and new patients alike.

I’m married – my wife is a practicing dental hygienist, as well – and have two amazing children. In my free time, I enjoy family, exercise, sports (especially U of A), and numerous outdoor activities.

With a passion for helping and educating people, I earned three degrees in my quest to determine what I wanted to do for a living. I found dental hygiene to be the best way for me to care for people for the past 21 years.

When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking our Arizona trails with my son, spending time in the White Mountains, and being with family. I’m also an avid reader.

I’m a native Arizonan and grew up here in Northwest Tucson. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in merchandising before returning to school for dental hygiene at Puma Community College. I began working with Dr. Dan Hornsby in 1998 and have extensive experience in general and cosmetic dentistry. I’ve also worked in a periodontal practice specializing in treating gum disease and implant care. I genuinely enjoy my coworkers and patients and am devoted to helping each person in my care achieve optimal oral health and a great smile.

I’ve been married to my husband, Matthew, for over 20 years. We have two amazing boys – Nathan and Kellan – who are my absolute pride and joy. I love traveling, camping, hiking, photography, Bible study, and spending time with my family in my free time.

Michelle was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. From a young age, Michelle knew she wanted to pursue a career in dental hygiene, a goal she remained committed to throughout her education and into her professional life.

She attended Northern Arizona University, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.

Michelle finds tremendous fulfillment in her role as a dental hygienist and considers it her dream job. She is passionate about helping patients improve their oral health, building trusting relationships, and making each visit a positive experience. Her caring personality and attention to detail allow her to connect with patients of all ages.

Michelle is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have two wonderful daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys golfing, camping and spending time with her family. She is also an avid reader and loves relaxing with a good book whenever she has the chance.

Although I was born in the tropical country of Vietnam, I grew up in the Arizona desert and have learned to appreciate every drop of rain! I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science. Following this, I pursued further education in dental hygiene and have been practicing in the field since 2020.

In addition to my professional focus on dental hygiene, I have a strong interest in culinary arts and enjoy discussing food and recipes. I find great satisfaction in cooking, baking, and exploring exceptional dining establishments. When I’m not working, you might find me at the gym or embracing the outdoors with friends during yoga sessions!

Assisting Dr. Hornsby since 1991, I’m a big believer that time flies when you’re passionate about your profession and truly desire the best outcomes for all your patients! I graduated from Sunnyside and Pima Medical Institute and am passionate about staying current on the innovations and technologies that enable patients to protect and strengthen their smiles.

Away from the office, I enjoy time with my husband, Ed, and our dogs, Bailey and Ranger. I’m also a big fan of collegiate-level sports.

I’ve lived in this beautiful Tucson community for over 33 years and have been dental assisting for over 20. I obtained my dental assistant certification from Pima Medical Institute and an associate's degree from Pima Community College, and I absolutely love my profession.

When I’m not caring for smiles, I like to spend my free time working out. I have one daughter who keeps me busy with softball and marching band, and I love spending time with family and friends whenever possible.

I’ve been a dental assistant since 2009, and I love helping patients have a successful experience in the dental office.

I’ve been happily married since 2014 and love spending time with family and friends. I’m a huge U of A fan, and my hobbies include doing Sudoku puzzles and listening to country music. I’m also mom to a boy named Bentley and couldn’t be more thrilled about it!

My name is Lorena, but most people know me as “Rena.” My dental career began as a dental assistant for Dr. Satish Hiremath in 2000. In 2018, my role changed to vice president of operations, and again in 2022, as president of operations for Bell Dental Arts, where I manage the day-to-day operations of Dr. Thomas Bell’s dental offices.

When I’m not in the office, I love spending time with my husband and two teenagers and all my pets at home. In my spare time I enjoy reading memoirs and historical fiction, meal prepping and blogging about Mom Life and meal prep for busy working Moms. I am blessed to be part of such a great team of exceptional doctors and staff.

My dental career started almost 30 years ago when I served as a dental assistant. I then became part of the front office team and I continue to bounce back and forth as needed. I’ve always found that dentistry brings surprises around every corner, and that’s what makes it so exciting.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my two children and two dogs, who are my world. I also enjoy going to the movies, shopping, and taking on home projects.

I am an experienced dental office professional with a strong background in front office operations, patient coordination, scheduling, and administrative support. I am committed to providing exceptional patient service while maintaining an organized and efficient work environment. My attention to support both patients and clinical teams effectively.

In addition to my professional experience, I am a dedicated mother of three - my son is 24 years old, and my daughters are 17 and 14. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature and hiking, which helps me maintain balance and a positive outlook.

My dental career as a front desk receptionist started back in 2020 , I love being able to help patients and making their visits smooth and hassle free when it comes to scheduling , insurance and anything they may need my help for outside of work I’m a very busy mom. I love spending time with my children and my supportive boyfriend. I also have a green thumb and love spending my days propagating , repotting and admiring my new leaves that are blooming.

I am back and excited to join the Dental Excellence Team!

While I was gone for 4 years, I had the pleasure of taking care of my beautiful grandchildren. It has been and is still the best part of my day.

I look forward to seeing all of our patients.

With 13 years of experience, Alina started out in the dental field as an Insurance Coordinator in Las Vegas and quickly moved up to the position of Office Manager until she moved overseas for several years. After moving to Tucson in 2020, she joined the Dental Excellence team in 2021 as the Insurance Coordinator. She has held the roles of Treatment Coordinator, Revenue Cycle Specialist, Insurance Specialist, Front Office Supervisor, amongst other positions. She has often expressed her love for her job and the relationships she has built with the whole Dental Excellence team. She thoroughly enjoys her interactions with patients and everyone she has come into contact with while in her position. She has greatly valued the experience she has obtained while working for Dental Excellence and looks forward to many more years with the company.

I have lived in Tucson my whole life. I started working at Dental Excellence in April of 2025. I enjoy working here. I graduated from Marana High School, then did 2 years at Central Arizona College where I was on the softball team and played shortstop. When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with family, friends and animals as well as doing anything outdoors traveling, hiking, camping, playing frisbee, pickleball, you name it.
